Hi All,

Is it possible to load limited number of message when start please? By default, it load all messages which take long.

How to set it up in ~/.muttrc please?

Ideally, it would be nice to have the feature of lazy loading - i.e. load messages when user hit page down button.

Thanks a lot in advance
James

Not exactly what you asked, but have you tried the header cache and/or
message cache features?

You don't say anything about your configuration, in particular which
type of folders you have (mbox/maildir/POP/IMAP), so it is hard to be
more specific.

I use Maildir and one message per file.

mutt does not need IMAP or POP as it just read from the Maildir/cur (or new) folder

Thanks

Have not tried header/message cache yet.

Will cache be lost once mutt restarts please?

No, it's persistent. That's the point.

But you can always force mutt to forget it just by deleting the cache
file. There are no ill effects from that other than a potential
slowdown.
