Discussion:
save-hook over-ridden by toggle-mailboxes

I have copy and save bindings changed to macros that present the folder list
right away rather than suggesting possible names to save messages to
"<copy-message>?<toggle-mailboxes>"
is the command part of the macro.
There are a few messages sources that I want to auto save to certain dirs when
I use the save or copy commands via save-hooks.
The save hooks work if I comment out my toggle mail box macro(s), but ifI have
the macro set and go to save I get the folder list.
I could change the macro's key binding, or change the binding of the save
command, but in an ideal world would like to have hooks take precidence, and
only when hooks d not match have the msg list come up.
Is this possible?
If so, what do I have to do to get the behavior I want?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
I suspect I'm asking the imposible, but if there's anyway to get my macro to
check for hooks it'd be great.

Well, although I'd still love to be able to do what I asked about to start
this thread, just making a new binding for the default save-message command is
not a bad solution the more I think about it.
Usin the new binding starting with A for automatic lets my save-hooks work as
well as any of mutt's folder suggestions.
As long as I was at it I went on and better organized my keybindings so that I
might be able to remember most of them...lol
I'd been adding one or two commands at a time for the most part, so I'd not
been very consistent choosing my hotkeys.
Not only was it hard to keep track of what was bound to what. I'd used up some
bindings that will likely be better used for something else in the future. I
use the , as a prefix to all my header switching commands, keyboard layout
switching and default signing key switching commands.
The 0 prefixes the bindings for external scripts that help with some
mutt housekeeping.
All and all not a bad little training session/my mutt and I should stay hppy
for a long time!
Now, if I can get account hooks figured out!
I started another thread about those a few days ago,, (hint hint), or reply
here if you are good with account-hooks
